Just Two Weeks to Go for DV Lottery 2014 Deadline

The Diversity Visa Lottery Program for 2014 is currently on. It started in the beginning of October and will close at noon on November 3, 2012. So if you have not already submitted your application you should do so now. The DV lottery 2014 deadline is hardly two weeks away.

Go on and submit your application now. This is your chance to win a green card. Generally getting a green card is not easy. People usually try to get a green card through their family members who are already US citizens or green card holders. Or, they try to get it through employment. In either case, there are a lot of procedures involved and the time it takes complete the whole process and enter the country with a green card can run into years. The green card lottery is by far the simplest, easiest and quickest way to get a green card with the exception of getting it as the spouse or unmarried child under the age of 21 of a US citizen.

We have also talked a lot about the benefits of being a green card holder – you can live and work in the US forever; you can take your family along with you; you can settle in any of the 50 states in the US; you can study by paying lesser tuition than foreign students do; you can travel and re-enter US easily with your green card; you can invest in property, set up businesses and also be eligible for insurance. The benefits are nearly as many as those that a US citizen gets. The main thing that you will miss is the chance to stand for government office and to vote in the elections.

Those of you who have already participated in previous lotteries and were not lucky, this is your chance to try your luck once again. All eligible individuals should go right ahead and submit your application at the earliest. Don’t think that 2 weeks is a long time, it will fly by in a jiffy. And do remember that while each applicant can submit only one application, married couples can submit two application – one with each spouse as the primary applicant and the other included as a dependent – and double your chances of winning this year! Good luck people! Take your first step towards embracing the American Dream!

    • The only way I know is if you are married and your spouse also meets the eligibility requirements, then your spouse can apply as the primary applicant and you have to be included as a dependent. That means you submit one application as the primary applicant and your spouse is your dependent. Your spouse submits another application as the primary applicant with you as the dependent. So you have double the chances of winning.
